Mahanbir Singh Grewal is humbled by the opportunity to stand for election to serve the community of the Riverland, Mallee and surrounding districts as Labor’s voice in Chaffey
Mahanbir is passionate about the development of the Riverland. He loves the people of the local community and its cultural diversity and looks forward to meeting as many people as possible to share his vision for its prosperity.
A Chartered Mechanical Engineer by training, Mahanbir has worked on projects that have added significant value to local communities, including medical centres, shopping centres, motels and units.
Mahanbir knows how important good health and wellbeing are to our society. He is very passionate about sports and in his younger days, played hockey in the hockey carnival that used to be held on the Labor Day weekend in Renmark.
His interest in sports has grown alongside his involvement in the Sikh community. Mahanbir helped organise the very first Annual Sikh Games in Renmark, where over 900 competitors participated in 9 different disciplines. That long weekend contributed significantly to the local economy.
He has also been active supporting international students arriving in Adelaide. As a representative in State parliament, he will future emphasise education, innovation and investment in all aspects of the community affairs.
Mahanbir has been married for fifty years and has four children. He cherishes his very close relationship with Riverland and the many friends he has made over the years.
Mahanbir Singh Grewal has a clear vision for the future of the Riverland and is passionate about seeing its economy grow. Believing we sometimes underestimate what we each can do to make things happen, he is very confident that together we can achieve this vision and showcase Chaffey in Australia as a progressive and prosperous region.
