Biography
Frances, a resident and active Modbury community member for 35 years, has maintained strong personal links with local people, groups and organisations since election. With 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren, Frances’ interests include social justice issues - particularly access to health and education, women’s issues and youth participation in performing arts.
Howard Walter Florey (1898-1968) born and educated in Adelaide went to Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. He was a world renowned scientist who pioneered the development and use of antibiotics (penicillin) sharing the Nobel Prize in 1945 for this discovery.
Area: approx. 14.4km2
Location: Largely a residential district to the north-east of Adelaide some 15 km from the CBD.
History: Created at the 1969 boundary redistribution. A minor adjustment to the boundaries occurred at the 2003 redistribution. Representation is detailed in the following table.
