Lee was born in London and moved to Australia with his parents in 1981.
Lee attended primary and secondary school in Elizabeth. He attended the University of South Australia, and went on to receive an Honours degree in History from the University of Adelaide.
After University, Lee managed a northern suburbs video store before joining the police force in 2000, serving at Elizabeth Patrols and Enquiries Sections.
Lee has always been active in the local community, having served as Chairperson of the Midway Road Community House as well as on the Governing Council of his son’s local school, and he has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Playford. Lee was elected to State Parliament in 2010 and has served on various standing and select committees. He is currently the Presiding Member of the Economic and Finance Committee.
Lee has lived in the local area for most of his life, and he currently lives in Hillbank with his family.
Named after the river that passes through a number of suburbs within the district. The Para River was discovered by B.T. Finniss in 1837, Para is an aboriginal term for 'a stream of water.' Area: approx. 64.1km2 Location: Formerly the District of Elizabeth and the only district renamed at the 2003 redistribution. It is situated approximately 20 km to the north-west of Adelaide. It extends to the Adelaide Hills and includes the residential suburbs of Surrey Downs, Fairview Park in the south and Hillbank and Gould Creek in the north. History: The seat was created at the 2003 redistribution (formerly named Elizabeth).
