Dana Wortley

Dana is the Member for Torrens taking in eleven north-east suburbs of Adelaide. First elected to our South Australian Parliament in 2014, Dana is regularly seen out and about in the community – working on local school governing councils, supporting our multicultural communities, local sports clubs, and community organisations, holding forums, speaking with residents at street corner meetings and shopping centres and attending significant local events and gatherings.

Passionate about a fair go for all, every child’s right to a great education, access to jobs and caring for our environment for the benefit of future generations, Dana’s experience and determination means that residents can be assured of excellent representation.

As a parent and a former teacher, she knows the importance of family and education in the development of our children. Community members with disability and children with special needs are an important focus.

A strong advocate for access to water safety, swimming lessons and water therapy, Dana continues to work towards securing a swimming pool in the local area.

Dana has worked as a schoolteacher, editor of The Advertiser Education Pages and was Secretary of the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance.

For six years, Dana represented South Australia as a Senator in our Federal Parliament – bringing invaluable experience to the Torrens electorate.

Dana’s more than 25 years’ experience representing individuals and groups, her service on numerous community committees and not for profit organisations and working with our multicultural communities, along with her understanding and commitment ensures excellent representation for residents of Torrens.
