Eddie Hughes

Eddie served the local community of Whyalla as a Councillor for over 20 years, including two terms as Deputy Mayor.
A long-time Whyalla resident, Eddie has raised his three children with his partner Kathryn. Prior to entering the Parliament, he worked in the shipbuilding and steelmaking industry, and later as a workplace rehabilitation consultant after obtaining a degree as a mature age student. Eddie has always played an active role in his community while being a strong advocate for the region.
Eddie is committed to serving the people of Giles. He believes regional South Australians deserve the right to high-quality education, health and community services and a strong diverse economy.
The communities in the electorate of Giles deserve a representative that will put their interests first. Eddie has the experience and commitment to stand up for Giles in State Parliament.
