I am a mother of four children, two at school and two forging their own careers and lives. Together with my husband James, I have a business we have built and grown together over the last six years.
I understand and am passionate about helping small and family businesses succeed because I know from first-hand experience the benefit a successful small business has for both the owners of the business – in terms or work/life balance, and the wider community – because, when supported to grow, a small business is low hanging fruit when it comes to their ability to take on more employees – and that is good for the community.
I believe in community and I know that communities thrive when people’s lives are meaningful, when people have opportunity, and when they have the means for connection.
To me this means focusing on Adelaide’s heritage; its culture; its events; its streets; and its people. I feel strongly that building healthy communities means understanding how people thrive in their work and their life, and what their hopes are for their future.
