My connection to Unley is lifelong, deep and transcends generations.
My great-grandparents moved to Fullarton Road in the 1940s, my mother grew up on Olive Street, and I grew up on Duthy Street and attended Concordia College. I currently reside in Malvern with my wife and our young son and we are currently expecting our second child.
My Experience
My service to our community started when I spent eight years serving in the Army Reserve, having graduated from the Royal Military College – Duntroon, where I gained enormous experience serving with the Adelaide University Regiment, 9 Combat Services Support Battalion and Norforce in Darwin.
I understand the challenges facing small business, having established and run my own finance company for almost a decade before its sale.
I’m currently employed by a multinational and understand the importance of industry, along with ensuring the security of well-paid jobs and opportunities to keep South Australians employed here.
What I believe in
I believe in a society that provides the opportunities which are rewarded by hard work.
My father instilled in me the values of hard work and commitment. He migrated from England and worked as an apprentice motor mechanic and, thanks to his drive, he undertook night study to become a Barrister.
I believe that South Australia needs a health system that provides the healthcare South Australians deserve. I watched our health heroes at work as they supported my father with dignity and comfort and ensured we could say our goodbyes. But I know that we must do more to support our health workers.
I understand the demands our energy sector places on our environment. Daily I see the tension between renewable energy and the need to maintain and grow jobs. I’m proud to be part of team with a bold vision for South Australia’s energy sector. Our State is a global leader in solar and wind electricity generation, but I know that Labor’s Hydrogen Plan will make South Australia a global leader, producing the fuel of the future and putting our State on the map internationally.
