New Mount Barker Hospital

• A new $320.8 million Mount Barker Hospital will provide more local resources to the booming population in the Adelaide Hills. The metropolitan hospitals currently manage a lot of the Adelaide Hills demand.
• 12 bed mental health ward in the new Mount Barker Hospital.
• The new hospital will not only triple the inpatient capacity, it will permanently expand local health services in surgery, obstetrics, renal, pathology, radiology and rehabilitation.
• It will also expand birthing capacity and have dedicated space for paediatrics and palliative care.
  New Mount Barker Ambulance Station
• Site works due to commence in 2024 and will be home to 30 ambos – include the 12 paramedics that joined the Mt Barker response in March 2023.
• Additional 6 ambos will join Mt Barker in March 2024.

• Made the BreastScreen SA Mount Barker Clinic a permanent clinic in January 2023
• Opened new ambulance stations at Birdwood and Strathalbyn, with 12 paramedics coming online for Strathalbyn in November 2025.
• Opened new nurse-led clinics at Gumeracha and Strathalbyn
